"Dust on the Wires" can be rougher than it looks, mostly because there's no room to play it safe halfway through. You're doing the whole chain in one deployment, so if you extract early or get dropped, you're back at square one. That's why a safe pocket matters so much here, especially if you're carrying something like ARC Raiders Items and don't want to lose the key note before you make it out. A lot of players learn that the hard way. If you want the clean run, go in with a plan, keep your route tight, and don't get dragged into fights you don't need.
Start at the eastern Field Depot
The first step is simple once you know where to look. Head to the eastern side of Spaceport and find a Field Depot. There are a few possible depot spots in that area, so don't panic if the first building you check isn't the one from someone else's screenshot. What matters is getting inside and using the field radio terminal. Send the missing scout patrol's last log to Shani, and that'll move the investigation forward. It also gives you a clearer idea of where you're meant to go next, which helps a lot when the map starts feeling busy.
Climb the Raider Tower
After that, rotate west. Your next stop is the old Raider Tower north of the Maintenance Hangar, down in the southwest part of Spaceport. It's a ruined structure, easy enough to spot once you're in the area, but you do need to climb all the way up. At the top, there's another terminal waiting for you. Interact with it and send the second log. This part adds some context to the patrol's disappearance, and it's not exactly comforting. You find out they went off-route on purpose. No accident, no bad coordinates. They broke from the mission and started doing something unofficial, which makes the whole trail feel a lot more suspicious.
Search the remains by the hangar
Now for the bit that usually slows people down. Go to the Maintenance Hangar, but don't waste time checking inside right away. The evidence you want is outside, scattered around the ground nearby. Look along the road, then sweep through the debris and dirt southwest of the building. The remains can blend in if you're rushing, so slow down for a second and scan properly. Once you find the patrol's wrecked gear, search it and take the Scout Patrol Note. This is the item that really matters, so from this moment on, survival becomes the whole mission.
Get out and turn it in
With the note secured, don't overstay. Plenty of runs fall apart because players start looting "just one more spot" instead of heading to extract. Make your exit, return to Speranza, and hand the note to Shani to finish the quest. That's when you get your rewards, often including the Fax Machine backpack charm, and it opens the next part of the Spaceport chain too. If you like being prepared before a risky run, U4GM is also a familiar option players use for game currency and item support, which can make gearing up for single-run quests a bit less stressful.
